DESCRIPTION:The Hays-Heighe House at Harford Community College in Bel Air honors women in Maryland and beyond who have excelled in all aspects of equestrian sport on Friday\, October 4\, 2019 from 5-8:30 p.m. Join us for the unveiling of the Women of the Turf exhibit followed by a reception and presentation of the Robert and Anne Heighe Award for Excellence in Equestrian Journalism to photojournalists Cappy Jackson and Lydia Williams. Meet special guest Kathy Kusner\, Olympic medalist and first licensed female jockey in the United States\, who will offer remarks at the award presentation. Tickets are $50 per person and include heavy hors d'oeuvres and beer/wine. Purchase tickets online at tickets.harford.edu or in person at the Chesapeake Center Box Office on campus (443-412-2211). Limited seating\; purchase early. Ticket sales close on October 3\, 2019. A portion of each ticket price is tax-deductible ($15) and proceeds will benefit the Hays-Heighe House.
