b. Position Description:
i. The Senior Electrical Engineer will play a critical role in designing cutting-edge tactical power systems that empower the U.S. military, ensuring mission success through innovation, reliability, and compliance with military standards. This role offers the chance to work on advanced technologies, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and gain hands-on experience with military-grade systems and compliance standards. The Senior Engineer leads the concept phase, design activities, reviews and reports the design’s progress without much supervision. Assignments are broad in nature, requiring appreciable initiative, originality, ingenuity and excellent problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have excellent analysis skills, advanced electrical engineering experience and a great understanding of power electronics and battery designs.
c. Key Duties and Roles:
i. Take full accountability for electrical system design, from concept through production, ensuring quality, reliability, and adherence to military specifications.
ii. Must take ownership of the electrical design for the project with very little supervision. This includes doing the complete electrical design, creating schematics, conducting layouts, DFM with the PCBA supplier, and BOM generation.
iii. Perform worst-case circuit analysis on paper and do circuit simulations.
iv. Perform de-ratings for the entire electrical design
v. Design and document robust hardware architecture and structure suitable for use in high reliability embedded applications.
vi. Lead electrical hardware component selection/optimization for microcontrollers and battery/charger management devices
vii. Provide necessary sustaining support to existing products and work in a cross-functional team environment to assure electrical system-level integration and design for manufacturability.
viii. Conduct comprehensive Electrical DFMEAs to ensure designs exceed customer and regulatory requirements.
ix. Construct prototypes; evaluate and document their performance; identify possible improvements
x. Explore new and existing circuit designs and methods to solve design challenges
xi. Maintain an awareness of customer requirements and complaints to identify areas that may need development or improvement.
xii. Prepare technical reports.
xiii. Establish a culture of learning, openness, and accountability.
xiv. Perform any additional related duties as assigned
d. Basic Qualifications:
i. Minimum of bachelor’s in electrical engineering with more than 5 years of experience in electronics manufacturing in the consumer, telecom, automotive, and/or military industries. Masters preferred.
ii. Battery design experience is highly preferred.
iii. Must be able to perform electrical layouts as well as schematic capture.
iv. Must have a solid understanding of digital and analog circuitry. A strong understanding of DC power electronics is required.
v. Familiarity with MIL-STD-461, EMI/EMC testing, and battery design is highly preferred.
vi. Experience with electrical CAD modeling systems (i.e. Altium, Orcad) required; Altium preferred.
vii. Strong quantitative, design, analytical, and problem-solving skills required.
viii. Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
ix. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required.

i. Up to 10% CONUS travel is required
