Deputy Director, Public Safety – Lieutenant
Harford Community College is seeking a Deputy Director of Public Safety – Lieutenant to provide daily oversight of campus special police and contracted security officers. This leadership role is responsible for:
?? Supervising field operations and officer scheduling
?? Conducting investigations and directing event operations
?? Serving as Acting Director when required
?? Performing the full range of officer duties
Minimum Requirements:
? High school diploma or GED
? Current or prior MPCTC (or equivalent out-of-state) law enforcement certification
? Maryland driver’s license & handgun permit
? 10+ years of experience as a law enforcement officer
? 3+ years of supervisory experience in law enforcement
? Strong knowledge of Maryland law, ICS, and critical incident management
Key Skills:
? Excellent judgment, communication, and de-escalation abilities
? Ability to manage incidents and ensure campus safety
