From Washing Cars to General Manager: Five Decades of Leadership, Loyalty and Service
Bel Air, MD – July 14, 2026 – On June 29, Jones Junction celebrated a remarkable milestone as Larry Kropff marked 50 years of service with the company, a journey that began when he walked into the dealership as a teenager looking for his first job and evolved into a leadership career spanning five decades.
Larry joined Jones Junction June 22, 1976, just after his 16th birthday. After responding to a newspaper advertisement seeking help cleaning vehicles, he made his way from dealership to dealership until Jones Junction gave him an opportunity. After impressing managers with his work ethic and attention to detail, he was hired and began what has become a lifelong career.
Larry has served in numerous roles across the organization, helping shape the dealership's growth while building lasting relationships with employees, customers and the community. More than a decade ago, he was promoted to General Manager, where he continues to oversee operations and mentor the next generation of dealership leaders.
"Few people have had a greater impact on Jones Junction than Larry Kropff," said Danny Jones, CEO of Jones Junction. "For 50 years, he has embodied everything this company stands for—hard work, integrity, loyalty and putting customers first. Larry has helped shape our culture and our success, and we are incredibly grateful for his leadership and friendship."
Bryan Kilby, President of Jones Junction, added, "Larry's story is one of the great success stories in our company's history. He started here as a teenager and earned every opportunity through dedication, perseverance and a genuine commitment to people. He has mentored countless employees and helped build Jones Junction into the organization it is today."
Larry’s 50-year milestone places him among a rare group of automotive professionals who have dedicated an entire career to a single organization, serving as a testament to both his leadership and Jones Junction's enduring commitment to its employees.
Everyday Larry shares words of wisdom with the Jones team and has done that seven days a week for years. Reflecting on his 50-year tenure “Never stop trying to learn. I have been fortunate to have a lot of great mentors along the way, but whatever you are hired to do even if it’s to dig a ditch then you dig the best ditch you can every day no matter what.”
