Almost a Year Ago Almost a year ago, I was simply a regular person trying to find clarity about what I wanted from life. What I did know was that I had a passion for hairstyling. As a dedicated hairstylist with exceptional talent behind the chair, I spent years refining my craft, traveling from the East Coast to the West Coast and learning from some of the most phenomenal stylists in the industry. Along the way, I met incredible people who helped shape me into the professional hairdresser I had become. Following the pandemic, I found myself deeply concerned about the changing economic landscape and the future of society, culture, and the workplace. Those concerns sparked a period of reflection. Although I had built a successful career as a stylist, I felt there was still another chapter waiting to be written. After taking some time away, I made a life-changing decision: I would write a book. What began as a single project quickly evolved into something much greater. Since publishing my first book, I have gone on to publish three more. With each release came uncertainty and anticipation as I submitted my work to award competitions, wondering how industry professionals and judging panels would respond. The results exceeded anything I could have imagined. Within a single year, all three of my books received awards across multiple categories. One title advanced to finalist status in Hollywood for Author of the Year, a remarkable achievement that marked a turning point in my career. Looking back, I see the young man who once waited with childlike excitement for opportunities to arrive. Today, I stand as a nationally and internationally recognized author whose work is making a meaningful impact on readers around the world. My book, The Complainer and The Thinker, has opened doors I once only dreamed about. It led to a publishing contract with Pegasus Publications and opportunities that have transformed my professional journey. Most notably, it positioned me to secure literary representation and take my message to a global audience through opportunities connected with Penguin Random House. What started as a search for purpose became a journey of growth, recognition, and impact. The path from hairstylist to award-winning author has been unexpected, but it has proven that reinvention is possible at any stage of life. Sometimes the greatest opportunities emerge when we are willing to step beyond what we know and embrace what is possible. For more information, please see the Author Bio.
