Payroll Analyst

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about ensuring accuracy in payroll processes? Harford Community College is seeking a Payroll Analyst to play a crucial role in ensuring that our employees are paid accurately and on time. In this position, you will assist with the bi-weekly payroll process, perform reconciliations for payroll, taxes, and benefits, and complete essential annual processes related to both the calendar and fiscal years. Additionally, you will test and troubleshoot system issues and upgrades to ensure seamless operations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply relevant policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Strong ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and effective decision-making skills.
  • Ability to organize, evaluate, and analyze complex information.
  • Competence in understanding written information and ideas.
  • Strong mathematical skills for problem-solving.
  • Accuracy in preparing documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate knowledge of payroll functions, including methods, techniques, principles, and procedures.
  • Intermediate accounting knowledge.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Required Experience:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in payroll or accounting, with at least one (1) year focused on payroll processing.

Residency Requirement:
Employees of Harford Community College, including those teaching online and virtual courses, must reside in Maryland or a contiguous state (Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia). Non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.
Work Authorization:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States, as the College does not offer Visa sponsorship for this position.
